movies

Journal Entry: Sat Apr 26, 2008, 6:54 PM

I was gonna upload something this weekend but I'm dumb and forgot the files at the office (where I do all my work) Ah well it will have to wait.

Since I got Netflix I've actually seen more movies then before I cancelled all my HBO/Cinemax/Showtime. Come journey with me through the last gems I've found.

Sweeney Todd – I had actually seen this production on Broadway. It was ok there, though it did have wonderful set design (it was a tiny stage where they moved the same set around for all the scenes, ie, a ladder became a seat became a shelf). But when I saw the movie I remembered all the songs and how great they were. I want to see it again!

Enchanted – I'm a sucker for cute romantic movies. This one was ok. Amy Adams is a really cute actress to watch, but I didn't enjoy the singing at all. In a musical like above, the music fits in seamlessly like they're talking, but here when they sing people knew it was weird and it is. Plus they were boring.

Juno – It was pretty good. It's a great script and the characters are interesting. I think the problem though is that it was so hyped I had high expectations for it. Everyone in the movie was just a little too witty. Like EVERYONE. And too understanding and complaint. I kept thinking I want to live in that town o.O

Eagle vs Shark – Alot of people liken this movie with Napoleon Dynamite. The loser hero character (plus sad surroundings) is certainly reminiscent of ND, but that's about it. ND was made by MTV and it's made for a younger audience. Eagle vs Shark is slightly more mature and subtle in it's comedy. I really enjoyed it.

19th century period movies – I've watched a lot!! Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Predjudice, Vanity Fair. I love this period. The clothes and properness and speech.

If anyone has seen good movies lately they can recommend to me that would be awesome. Or even warn me which to skip =P

Hello. <3
I am a fan of your art work, and I just wanted to stop by. I know a bazillion people have already commented on your amazing-ness XD, but I really admire your work.
You are one of my favorite deviant artists. I also really like that you actually thank everyone for favs and watches. A lot of popular artists on DA don't bother with thanking after they get about 10000 page views. But you are very friendly, creative, and talented. I look forward to the rest of your "500" deviation submissions. And thank you for sharing your amazing art with DA. <3

I think crafting stores might have some templates for boxes, because they have many different kind of templates to envelopes. Ofcourse, making your own template eventually is a good idea, because then you can call it your own and get the template in the size you want. Maybe I'll practice first on your tokis and then see if I can make my own templates some day.

Thanks so much.
I had seen another cubed papercraft online (I think it was a kirby), and then a few others. I made the template myself, and yes there was alot of trial and error till i got the folds and flaps I liked that closed the best. It's not to hard to make anyways :P, all squares and rectangles

Thanks for the comment on my gallery. I especially love the toki's you've made so I had to watch you. Where have you learnt to make/design them? Any good tutorials? How do you get the basic shapes correct so that it fold so nicely; lot's of trials and errors or are there templates for those things? I'm thinking they would make lovely tiny gift boxes.

I don't know alot that are EXACTLY like mine. Really it's more like a few here or there scattered. Which is why I'm hoping to make a site just of them. I know :iconkickass-peanut: has some cute milk ones on the 2nd page of her gallery.
Canon has a super cool papercraft gallery HERE

Try searching for ';papercraft' or 'origami' here on dA :)

Cool. Do you know anyone else who has toki's? They're so cool!
